The Similarities and Dissimilarities of a Railway Station and a Bus Station I Have Visited.

Both a railway station and a bus station are very important place for communication where trains and buses stop at and start from. Railway station and bus station is one of the most well-known place to all specially to the city dwellers. People go there for many reasons. I have gone so many times to railway station and also bus station in my life. There are many similarities and a few dissimilarities between a bus station and a train station. They both are very much crowdie and noisy. People from different places come here. When I was in class three I went to a bus stand with my father to receive my maternal uncle who had come to visit us. And when I was a student of class five I went to a railway station for the first time to go to my grandparents’ house with my uncle. In both station we have to buy ticket to travel. There I saw so many interesting things. A lot of people from different places came to the station. Bus/ Train is coming and going all the time. Just outside the station, there are stands for rickshaws, auto-rickshaws, and other vehicles. Before the arrival of a train or bus, the passengers collect their tickets standing in a queue. When a train or a bus arrives, the station becomes busy and noisy. When it leaves the station, it becomes calm and quite. There are ticket counters, booking station and waiting room in both a bus and a rail station. Passengers use to get in them and get down from the bus or train. Besides passengers the hawkers, the beggars and the porters are seen in a bus or rail station. Generally book stalls, newspaper stalls, fruits stalls, restaurants and tea stalls are also seen in both the station. However, there are a few dissimilarities between a bus station and a rail station. Generally a train station has one or more red buildings made of brick. From a distance, one can see the green and red signals and red buildings of a station. It has a room for the station master. In every railway station, there are two or more railway lines. Near the station, there are two signal posts with red and green signals. The point’s man maintains the signals. He also moves along the platform with red and green flags in his hand. On the other hand these are not seen in a bus station. However both a bus station and a railway station are very important and useful place for the people.
