Read the following incomplete story and complete it with a suitable title.

 

1. One day a crow became very thirsty. It flew from one place to another in search of water. But it found no water. Suddenly, It noticed —

One day a crow became very thirsty. It flew from one place to another in search of water. But it found no water. Suddenly, it noticed a jar at a little distance. It peeped into the jar and saw that there was a little water at the bottom of the jar. It tried again and again but in vain. It became very sad and hopeless. It saw that there were some pebbles beside the jar. A good idea came into its head. It picked up the pebbles and dropped them into the jar one after another. As a result, the water of the jar came to the brim. The crow drank the water to its heart’s content. Then, it flew away with a joyful mind.

 

2. Once there lived a farmer who had three sons. They always quarrelled with one another. This made the farmer unhappy. He tried to bring them to their senses but failed. At last he thought of —

Then the old farmer told them that they were like these sticks. When the sticks were together they were not broken but when they were separated, the sons could break them. If the sons never quarrel with each other they become strong and then nobody can destroy them but if they quarrel with each other they become weak and anybody can harm them easily. After that the sons could understand the importance of getting together and did not quarrel with each other.

 

3. There lived a hare in a forest. He could run fast and so he was proud of his speedy movement. In the same forest, there was also a tortoise. The hare always teased the tortoise for his slow movement. One day the tortoise asked the hare in a race competition. The hare was very amused at this —

But it was too late. When the hare reached the destination he saw that the tortoise had already reached there. The hare was very disappointed and understood that slow and steady wins the race.

But the farmer didn’t listen to his wife. In order to fulfill his greed, he decided to cut the belly of the goose. When he cut the belly of the goose, he found no egg there. He became disappointed. He lost the goose forever. Then, he became poorer. Through this incident, the farmer understood that an excess of greed brought misfortune for him.
